Hopkinton Continues Search for New Fire Chief

The Hopkinton Fire Department Chief Search Committee announced that it received eighteen applications for the Chief's position, nine of which were from out of state. "After a thorough review of each application, we have extended invitations for first round interviews to seven candidates," said Bob Levenson, Chair of the committee.

"We are very pleased with the quality of the candidates," said Chris LeClaire, the Newburyport, MA Fire Chief and a member of the committee.

Hillers Golf Playoff Results

The MIAA Golf Playoffs began for the Hopkinton Hillers Golf Team on Monday at Easton Country Club. The Hillers finished in 5th place out of the field of 12. The Hillers hit a 319 overall as a team: (Geoff Holler - 82, Jake Doherty - 81, Matt Jornson - 80, Drew Simi - 79, Connor Czerepuszko - 79, Jacob Southern - 90.)

1st Place: Bishop Feehan (308), 2nd Place: Walpole (309), 3rd Place: Westwood (311), 4th Place: Oliver Ames (312), 5th Place: Hopkinton (319)

Gothic Ghost Tales at the Hopkinton Public Library

Some of the most imaginative and original writers of ghost stories in the 20th century have been women. They helped create the modern ghost: a mixture of the old-fashioned Victorian gothic and science fiction. Rita Parisi from Waterfall Productions will present three ghost stories that probe the possibilities of other dimensions in time and human consciousness at the Hopkinton Public Library.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the Special Town Meeting, the date has been changed from Monday, October 26 to Monday, November 9 at 6:30 PM.

Suitable for ages 10 and up.

Host Family Needed for Exchange Student

We are looking for someone to host a Vietnamese senior boy for the remainder of year ending in early June. He is friendly, interesting, quiet, loves sports and playing soccer, and is a good student. Edward B. Mitchell, 85

MASHPEE/NAPLES, FL - Edward B. "Ted" Mitchell, 85, of Mashpee, MA. and Naples, FL. passed away on Oct. 10, 2015 at the Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis. He was the husband of Frances (Calia) Fabbricotti Mitchell and the late Dorothea M. (Carey) Mitchell who died in 1978.

Mr. Mitchell owned and operated Milly Mitchell's Restaurant in Mendon along with his family for many years before his retirement in 1985.
