Town of Hopkinton Seeks a Full-Time Heavy Equipment Operator for its DPW Department

This position will work under the supervision of a Highway Manager. Operates a variety of motor driven vehicles and equipment including trucks with a rated capacity of more than 26,001 lbs. G.V.W. (Gross Vehicle Weight), tractors, road sweepers, etc. in the provision of public works services; performs all other related work as required.

November Mission Retreat at Fatima Shrine

The Xaverian Missionaries at Fatima Shrine in Holliston are offering day Retreats each month on themes for the celebration of Consecrated Life, called by Pope Francis as well as celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Mission Document from Vatican II Ad Gentes. These retreats will take place at the Shrine on the Second Sunday of each Month, giving those who come an opportunity to celebrate the many ways that Mission can be expressed and lived.
The next retreat will be Sunday, November 8th, with the first reflection given during the 11:00 AM Mass.

300 Years of Music Concert at St. Paul’s November 8

As part of Hopkinton’s 300th Anniversary celebration, the combined choirs of Community Covenant and St. Paul’s Episocal churches in Hopkinton will be presenting a 300 Years of Music concert at St. Paul’s Church on Sunday, November 8 at 3:00 p.m. The concert is open to the public, and while there is no charge there will be a free-will offering to support Hopkinton’s coordinated response to the current Refugee Crisis. St. Paul’s is located at 61 Wood Street (Rte 135) in Hopkinton.

Hillers Football gets Duxbury in 1st round of Playoffs

The MIAA 2015 High School Football playoff brackets have been released. The 4 and 3 Hopkinton Hillers earned the 6th seed in the Southwest Bracket and will be on the road against 6 and 1 Duxbury in the first round. The game will take place Friday Night (October 30th) at 7:00pm. Duxbury is out of the Patriot League. The common opponent of Duxbury and Hopkinton was Holliston. Duxbury played a close game with Holliston on September 18th and lost 39-35. The Hillers also lost to Holliston on October 9th 35-14.
