Photography Celebrated In Juried Art Show, Upcoming Exhibit Curated by Renowned Artist & Professor

(September 2, 2014 - HOPKINTON, MA) The Hopkinton Center for the Arts has announced an open call for art for its upcoming juried Photography Show. Juried by artist and professor Chehalis Hegner, the exhibit runs September 30-October 30, 2014 and features a public opening reception and awards ceremony on Friday, October 3, 2014.

The 2nd Annual Evan Girardi Memorial 5K Race/Walk and Event begins at Hopkinton’s EMC Park, with a route through scenic downtown Hopkinton and concluding at Hopkinton High School, 90 Hayden Rowe St., Hopkinton, MA on Saturday, September 6, at 9:00 AM. Please join us for our annual gathering and fundraiser (race, live music, raffles, food, face painting, vendors). All proceeds directly benefit families and patients effected by Congenital Heart Disease (CHD).

St. Paul’s “Welcome Back Sunday” September 14

HOPKINTON, MASS. (September 2, 2014) – St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will be hosting its annual “Welcome Back Sunday” on September 14. Current and potential church members are invited to join in this homecoming celebration, which will include Sunday School registration at 10:30 a.m. and a Holy Eucharistic service at 10:45 a.m. (which is the new starting time for that service). There will also be a pot-luck lunch after the service and the chance for newcomers to meet Reverend Rebecca Black, who recently joined St. Paul’s as the bridge priest. St.

Wilson St – From East Main St to #12 Wilson St will be closed from 11am-3pm.

Board of Appeals Approves Cell Tower Additions

The Board of Appeals met Wednesday, August 27th. Their discussion focused primarily on adding equipment to cell phone towers at 0 Wilson Street, 1 Mechanic Street, and 26 Lumber Street.

Board Chairman Rory Warren was absent from this meeting; Vice Chairman Michael Pierce presided over the meeting in his stead. After calling the meeting to order, the board moved to push discussion of Peppercorn Village, originally scheduled to be discussed at the meeting, to a later date. Pierce expressed concern over insufficient time to review the matter fully.

Pancake Breakfast planned to support Hopkinton’s 300th anniversary

HOPKINTON, MA (August 28, 2014) – Support Hopkinton's 300th anniversary by eating pancakes! There will be a pancake breakfast sponsored by the Knights of Columbus on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at St. John's Parish Hall in Hopkinton from 8AM to 12 Noon.

Tickets: $5 Adults, $20/Family
$4 Seniors & Students

Fatima Day at the Shrine in Holliston

On Saturday September 13th, the Xaverian Missionaries will hold the traditional Fatima Day celebration in honor of Our Lady. The theme for this year’s Fatima Day celebrations is on: THE JOYFUL MYSTERIES.” Sing-along at 6:30pm. Mass at 7:00pm. The main celebrant and homilist will be Fr. Adolph Menendez, sx. Fr. Adolph, lives in Holliston – MA, but hails from New York City and has worked for almost 30 years in the missions: first in Japan and then in Mexico. At present he is, together with Fr. Rocco, the Co-Director of the Global Youth Mission Services (GYM).
