Runderdogs 2014 Boston Marathon Run for HOPE

The 2014 Boston Marathon will be about resiliency, strength, love, pride and overcoming adversity. For these reasons, our Runderdogs team -- Ginny Pitcher, Julia McGovern & Kel Kelly -- will run for the House of Possibilities (HOPe). HOPe is the organization that discovers and celebrates the special in special needs. Special needs children and adults are the true underdogs in our world and overcome adversity every single day. HOPe believes the possibilities for developmentally disabled people are limitless and they are a remarkable gift to the rest of the world.

Ernest P. Paolini, 92

Ernest P. Paolini, 92, of Hopkinton, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Genesis Healthcare in Milford. Born in Westborough, he was the son of the late Domenica (Moretti) and Adolpho Paolini. He was the husband of the late Gwendolyn Elizabeth (Adams) Paolini who passed in 2004.

Ernest attended school in Westborough and served in the US Navy during World War II. He survived the torpedo attack of the USS Ashtabula at Leyte Gulf in the Pacific, the largest naval attack in history.

BOSTON ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES DOCUMENTARY

BOSTON, MA – The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) announced today that it has entered into an agreement with LA Roma Films, to produce “Boston” the first ever feature-length documentary film about the Boston Marathon - the world’s most legendary running race.

Directed by Jon Dunham, award winning filmmaker/marathoner of the critically acclaimed Spirit of the Marathon films, and produced by Academy Award™ nominee Megan Williams, the film is expected to be released in late 2015.

Gary Richard Haines, 59

Gary Richard Haines, 59, of Hopkinton, passed away Friday, February 7, 2014. Born in Framingham, he was the husband to Janice Gail (Hayes) Haines for 30 years.

Gary worked at the Holliston Water Department for 29 years. His hobbies included beekeeping, camping, boating and fishing, bonfires, and ice fishing. He was often found swimming with his grandson Orion at his son and daughter-in-law's lake house.

Open burning pollutes the air and can make it difficult for people with
respiratory problems to breathe. When the air is stagnant, open burning can
create smoke and odor nuisances – and health risks – for nearby residents,
particularly in populated areas. On “good air” days, existing pollution levels are
low and air circulates well. During the “open burning season” (which runs from
January 15 to May 1), open burning is allowed in Massachusetts only on days
when BOTH air quality and fire safety conditions are acceptable. Local fire
