Cournoyer Receives Severance

Details of former principal Mike Cournoyer's resignation have been released by Superintendent Dr. Cathy MacLeod. Put on leave of absence effective September 19, Cournoyer's resignation was announced on Friday, November 1.

In an email received tonight by HCAM News, MacLeod provided the financial details of the amount of the severance for Mr. Cournoyer and the cost to the district.

Residents Urged to Use Caution When Picking Up Sand from DPW

I would like to remind Hopkinton residents that are coming into the DPW yard to pick up resident sand to use caution when entering and exiting the property. Over the last few years we have noticed an increase in the number of residents taking advantage of this service and have noticed motorists driving too fast while entering & exiting our facility. There have been several close calls between our equipment and residents vehicles.

Parking Regulations for Winter Months Go Into Effect Nov. 15

The DPW wishes to remind all Hopkinton residents of By-Laws pertaining to the parking of motor vehicles during the winter months.

Traffic Rules and Orders, Town of Hopkinton, Article lV, Section 8 “It shall be unlawful for the driver of any vehicle, other than for an emergency, to park said vehicle on any street between the hours of 1:00am to 6:00am from November 15 through April 1.

Governor Patrick Proclaims November as “HIRE A VETERAN MONTH”

In recognition of Massachusetts’ dedicated, highly skilled and hard-working veterans, Governor Deval Patrick today proclaimed November 2013 as “Hire a Veteran Month.”

“It is imperative that we honor the brave men and women who have served our country by giving them the resources to find good jobs at good wages,” said Governor Patrick. “By working with employers and providing training for the jobs that are open, we will grow opportunity for our veterans and strengthen our economy.”

Suzanne C. Colella, 64

Suzanne C. Colella, 64, of Hopkinton, passed away Tuesday, October 29,
2013 at her home surrounded by family. Born in New Hampshire, she was the
daughter of Philip and Cecile (Lessard) Bedard of Alexandria, NH. She was
the wife of 32 years to Robert Colella of Hopkinton.

Suzanne had worked at the former Dr. Butterfield Optometry Office in
Holliston.

Hiller Cheerleaders Take 1st Place in TVL Championship

Congratulations Hopkinton Hiller Cheerleaders (HHC)… you did it again!! First place in the Tri-Valley League (TVL) Championships for the second year in a row. The competition was held last night, October 30, at Bellingham High School. There were eight teams competing last night; two in the junior varsity category and six were competing as varsity squads.
