Home Heating Cost Assistance

If you are in need of Fuel Assistance this coming heating season and you would like to apply to
SMOC (South Middlesex Opportunity Council) for assistance, please contact the Hopkinton
Senior Center Outreach Department (508-497- 9730).
We assist all households in Hopkinton, not just Seniors, so please spread the word to your
neighbors. All sources of heating are covered; gas, oil, propane, electricity, wood pellets.  You
do not need to be a home owner to apply.

Library Fundraising Tops $1 Million at Hopkinton Public Library Foundation’s “A Novel Affair”!

On Saturday, October 28, 300 party-goers enjoyed a unique experience inside the newly renovated and expanded Hopkinton Public Library at “A Novel Affair – A Literary Cocktail Benefit”, presented by Middlesex Savings Bank. HPLF was honored to host this once-in-a-century Benefit as the capstone to Library fundraising and celebrate the reopening of our incredible new Library - the anchor of Hopkinton Center since first opening in 1895.

Celebrate Henry David Thoreau's 200th birthday with a discussion of his essay "Civil Disobedience" at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, November 8. A blackout poetry activity will follow. Teen participants will be entered in a raffle to win a prize! Click here to read "Civil Disobedience" online.

This event is part of the Massachusetts State-Wide Read in honor of Thoreau's bicentennial.

Learn about Chinese Opera with a short presentation followed by live performances by local residents Liyuan Guo and Jeffery Wu at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, November 15.

-Girls Volleyball shutout Doherty in dominate fashion in their 1st Division 1 Playoff game in school history. Hopkinton outscored #14th seeded Doherty 75-16 overall (25-8, 25-4, 25-4). #3rd seeded Hopkinton improves to 18 and 2 on the season and advances to host #6th seeded Franklin at a date and time to be determined.

-#8th seeded Hillers Field Hockey won their 1st South Division 1 playoff game of the year. Hopkinton defeated #25th seeded Durfee 3-0. The Hillers improve to 14-4-1 and advance to host #24th seeded Braintree next on Saturday November 4th at 3:30pm.
