Library Fundraising Tops $1 Million at Hopkinton Public Library Foundation’s “A Novel Affair”!

On Saturday, October 28, 300 party-goers enjoyed a unique experience inside the newly renovated and expanded Hopkinton Public Library at “A Novel Affair – A Literary Cocktail Benefit”, presented by Middlesex Savings Bank. HPLF was honored to host this once-in-a-century Benefit as the capstone to Library fundraising and celebrate the reopening of our incredible new Library - the anchor of Hopkinton Center since first opening in 1895.

Celebrate Henry David Thoreau's 200th birthday with a discussion of his essay "Civil Disobedience" at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, November 8. A blackout poetry activity will follow. Teen participants will be entered in a raffle to win a prize! Click here to read "Civil Disobedience" online.

This event is part of the Massachusetts State-Wide Read in honor of Thoreau's bicentennial.

Learn about Chinese Opera with a short presentation followed by live performances by local residents Liyuan Guo and Jeffery Wu at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, November 15.

Winter Parking Ban in Affect November 15th 2017

The DPW wishes to remind all Hopkinton residents of By-Laws pertaining to the parking of motor vehicles during the winter months.

Traffic Rules and Orders, Town of Hopkinton, Article lV, Section 8 “It shall be unlawful for the driver of any vehicle, other than for an emergency, to park said vehicle on any street between the hours of 1:00am to 6:00am from November 15 through April 1.

Hopkinton Historical Society Presents: "Hopkinton on the Homefront" Friday 11/3 7pm

We hope to see you Friday night at 7:00 pm for the Historical Society's Veteran's Day event: Hopkinton on the Homefront at 168 Hayden Rowe. It is sure to be memorable! There will be some classic 1940s songs performed by Kelly Grill, Mary Scarlata-Rowe and Judy Sullivan; a film of the Hopkinton Fairs in 1943 & 44, and our special guest Polly Kienle of the National Park Service who will be speaking about the real life "Rosie the Riveters" of the Boston Navy Yard. Admission is free to all Historical Society members, veterans and "Rosies" and $5.00 for the general public.

Art Show at St. Paul’s on November 11

Oil paintings, woodworking, photography, homemade crafts, and other works of art will be on display at the Art Show hosted by St. Paul’s Single Again group on Saturday, November 11 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Art Show is free and open to the public and will be held at St. Paul’s Parish Hall, 61 Wood Street (Rte. 135), Hopkinton. Refreshments will be served.
