Police Warn of Solicitors and Scams

Recently, Hopkinton residents have contacted the Police Department regarding solicitors who have come to their residence. The Town of Hopkinton has a Solicitor By-law, Chapter 150: Door to Door Soliciting or Canvassing that controls the activities of private or corporate solicitors. This information can be found on the Town of Hopkinton website at http://www.hopkintonma.gov/home/government/documents/bylaws

Firefighter Wanted

The Town of Hopkinton Fire Department is accepting applications for the position of Career Firefighter / Paramedic. Completed applications inclusive of all required documentation as listed below must be mailed or delivered in hand at the HR Department, 18 Main Street, Hopkinton, MA 01748. Applications can be picked up at this address or may be e-mailed upon written or electronic request. Applications, letters of reference, resumes and required documentation shall be returned by 1700 hours (5:00 PM) on Tuesday, 05 August 2014.

West Main Street Crash Kills 1

On Monday July 21, 2014 at approximately 3:46 PM, Hopkinton Police responded to a serious motor vehicle accident in the area of 251 West Main Street. Upon the officers’ arrival, a vehicle was found to be overturned in the roadway. The operator and sole vehicle occupant was found unconscious inside the vehicle. The operator was administered first aid and transported to the Milford Regional Medical Center by Hopkinton Fire Paramedics. The operator was pronounced deceased a short time later.

Patients with CVS Caremark can once again fill prescriptions at Hopkinton Drug

We are very pleased to report that Judge William Young of the U.S. District Court entered a preliminary injunction in favor of Hopkinton Drug against CVS Caremark to fully reinstate Hopkinton Drug as a Provider Pharmacy for all health plans for which CVS Caremark serves as pharmacy benefits manager. On June 23, CVS Caremark had issued a notice of termination of Hopkinton Drug effective July 3. Hopkinton Drug then sued CVS Caremark, alleging among other things that the termination was made in bad faith.

ROADWORK NOTICE

Rubber Chip Seal resurfacing work is scheduled for Monday July 21 and Tuesday July 22 on the following streets.

7/21- Pond St – School St to Spring St
Hill St – Spring St to the Westboro town line.

7/22 – Saddle Hill Rd – From Daniel Shays (south) to 500’ North of Edgehill Rd.
College St – From Hayden Rowe St to the Holliston town line.

Work hours will be approximately 7am – 5pm.

One lane of traffic will be open during construction.
