Linda Jean Hilditch,51, of Austin, TX, formerly of Hopkinton, MA died on April 23, 2014 after a long illness. She was the daughter of Patricia Harrington Byrne of Hopkinton and the late Thomas Hilditch, Jr. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband Robert Miller, her sisters, Donna Luckret, Deborah Hilditch, Patricia Alexander, her late brother, Thomas Hilditch, her aunt Jean Harrington and Uncle William Harrington,nieces and nephews and many cousins.

Frances M. Coutinho, 96, of Hopkinton, MA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Manuel N. Coutinho and devoted mother of Anne-Marie Moore, Barbara Coutinho and husband Thomas Williams, Cissy Coutinho and Michael Childs, John Coutinho and wife Brenda, and Paul Coutinho and fiancé Paula Kwerder. She also leaves eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren as well as many extended family members and devoted friends. She was the sister of Dolores Murphy and the late John Cancian.

Doris M. Schofield, 89

Doris M. Schofield, 89, died Thursday April 3, 2014 at home. She was the wife of the late Ernest R. Schofield, who died in June 1986. She was born May 1, 1924, the daughter of the late Allen and Janet Tracy.

Doris enjoyed traveling and valued the many friendships she made along the way. She was an avid swimmer.

She is survived by her children; Lee and Kenneth Tighe of Savannah, GA, Gail Schofield of Ashland, and Allen and Joanna Schofield of Hopkinton, her grandchildren; Jenna, Rachel, James, Jacob and Harry, and many nieces and nephews.

Davison M. Welch, 93

Davison M. Welch, 93, of Hopkinton, passed away Monday, March 24, 2014 at St. Patrick’s Manor in Framingham. Born in Hopkinton, he was the son of the late Marjorie and Charles Welch. He was the husband of the late Eleanor (Robbins) Welch.

An Air Force Veteran and member of the American Legion, Davison was a popular local artist. He enjoyed flea markets, playing volleyball well into his 70’s and collecting antiques.

Virginia "Ginny" Macmillan Hankinson, 92

Virginia Ginny Macmillan Hankinson, 92, died peacefully at her home in Boothbay Harbor, the morning of March 11, 2014. She was born in Framingham, MA, on November 8, 1920 to Walter and Grace L. (Spinney) Robbins. She graduated from Hopkinton High School and attended Framingham Normal School. She married Robert Norcross Macmillan on August 26, 1939. Her work life included Telechron, Dennison and many years as a waitress at Kens Steak House where she met and worked with many people who became life-long friends.

Steven R. Aitken, 51, of Hopkinton died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Monday, February 24, 2014, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was the beloved husband of Nancy (Gradie) Aitken and father of Ryan, Kyle, and Tom Aitken. Steven was born to the late William Aitken and Carol (Slater) Aitken in Puerto Rico, and grew up in Hopkinton, MA. He graduated from Hopkinton High School in 1981 and Wentworth Institute of Technology in 1985.

Joseph L Pineau, 84

Joseph L Pineau, 84, of Hopkinton, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014
at the Umass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. Born in Natick, he
was the son of the late Lucie (Blanchard) and Louis Pineau. He was the
beloved husband of Angelina (Nuzzi) Pineau of Hopkinton since their
marriage on July 4, 1954.

An Air Force Korean War Veteran, Joseph was a longtime Natick resident
until moving to Hopkinton 20 years ago. He had worked at D.G. O’Brien in
Seabrook, NH from 1964 until his retirement.

Ernest P. Paolini, Navy Veteran

Ernest "Ernie" P. Paolini died on 9 February 2014, 5 days after the 92nd anniversary of his birth. He was a proud member of the US Navy having served during World War II. As a 20-year old he enlisted in 1942, becoming a machinist mate. Ernie's USN training and early assignments were at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center, advanced machinist training in St. Paul, Minnesota, and the Philadelphia Naval Shipyards. He always remembered his barracks number, 1609, at Great Lakes.

Ernest P. Paolini, 92

Ernest P. Paolini, 92, of Hopkinton, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Genesis Healthcare in Milford. Born in Westborough, he was the son of the late Domenica (Moretti) and Adolpho Paolini. He was the husband of the late Gwendolyn Elizabeth (Adams) Paolini who passed in 2004.

Ernest attended school in Westborough and served in the US Navy during World War II. He survived the torpedo attack of the USS Ashtabula at Leyte Gulf in the Pacific, the largest naval attack in history.
