National Night Out is a nation wide event to encourage safety in communities and allows residents of all ages an opportunity to get to know Police officers and law enforcement serving in their community. Your ticket will include a tee shirt and a key chain! We'll have food trucks as well so you can eat great BBQ while you watch the Hiller alumni take on the Hiller 2015 varsity squad. We'll also have an exhibition game between community leaders and parents of the program.

This is Eric Carty, with the Hopkinton DPW water and sewer department, with an important water supply notice. Due to the elevated drought conditions to severe, a dramatic increase in water use and a rapid decrease in ground and surface water levels, it has become necessary to restrict ALL lawn watering effective immediately. We continue to receive very little rain to help recharge our aquifers. It is Imperative that everyone turn off all automatic irrigation systems. This is necessary to ensure a safe and adequate supply for our daily essential needs and for firefighting capabilities.
John E. Cahill, 90, died Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Medway Country Manor. He was the husband of the late Evelyn M. (Cellucci) Cahill, who died in February 2008.
Born in Hopkinton, he was the son of the late John E. (Jack) Cahill Sr. and Ida (Koskela) Cahill.
John was a lifelong resident of Hopkinton and worked as a US Postal letter carrier there for 30 years.
He was a WWII Marine Veteran of A Company 5th Engineer Battalion 26th Marine Regiment 5th Division where he served in the Iwo Jima Conflict and earned a Purple Heart.
During the monthly Taps Ceremony at Hopkinton's Gazebo Sunday, the Old Guard N.E. offered to hold a gun salute and flag folding in honor of John Cahill who passed away last Tuesday. There is a band concert at the Gazebo Sunday from 5 to 7pm, so the Taps Ceremony will begin after the band leaves.
