Video: Board of Health Bans Plastic Bags and Increases Tobacco Age

On Monday Night, the Hopkinton Board of Health hosted two Public Hearings. The first public hearing was "to consider adoption of a reduction in Single-Use plastic check out bags." The regulation bans single-use plastic check-out bags at any retail or grocery store within the town of Hopkinton. After no protest at the Public Hearing, the Board of Health voted unanimously to pass the regulation. The Board of Health will be the enforcing authority to ensure that all retail and grocery store businesses within Hopkinton comply with the regulation.

The upcoming Vets Breakfast on 4 May 2018, at 0900 hours, at the Senior Center is your opportunity to share camaraderie, community, and chow with fellow veterans.

Tribute will be paid to comrades who passed away during the past month, and those who are on "Sick Call" will be acknowledged. It is a generous gesture when you pay a visit or send a card to one or more of our ailing comrades.

Community Notice: Fire Flow Tests to Take Place Saturday April 28th

Please be advised that Dell/EMC will conducting required fire flow tests on Saturday April 28th in the morning. Because these tests will take place on main transmission lines, customers may notice some discoloration during and after the tests throughout town. Please avoid doing any laundry, dishwasher loads or other water use activities, during this time. Any discoloration that may occur will eventually dissipate. Please check you water before using it. You may need to run your cold water line to clear your internal pipes after the test is complete.

Boston Marathon Charity Runners Join Kids for Art Exhibit in Hopkinton

The Hopkinton Center for the Arts (HCA) current children’s exhibit, inspired by the Boston Marathon, will host a reception on Saturday, April 28 from 1 to 2 p.m. Heart, Courage, Sweat​ features 27 artworks by local students, ages 6 to 13. At the reception students will have the opportunity to meet two members of the HCA Boston Marathon running team. Girish Cherkady and Joy Donohue, who together raised more than $15,000 for the HCA. Cherkady and Donohue, both of Hopkinton, MA, will be on hand to talk about their marathon experience and to display their medals and other memorabilia.

Hopkinton Women's Club Host Meet the Candidates Night Wendesday April 25th at HCAM

The Hopkinton Women's Club is holding the 31st annual Meet the Candidates Night on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at 7:00 PM in the HCAM-TV studio. We encourage townspeople to attend and ask questions of the citizens running for office in the May 21st Town Election. Home viewers will have the opportunity to pose questions to the candidates using a phone number posted on the TV screen. Questions can also be e-mailed ahead of time or that evening to live@hcam.tv
