Hopkinton CC Charitable Foundation Gala Event 10/14/17

On Saturday October 14 the Hopkinton CC Charitable Foundation will host our 8th Annual Evening Gala. We’ve announced that our Spotlight Sponsor will be Bethany Hill Place. Bethany Hill Place offers affordable, educational housing to more than 150 individuals and families every year who have experienced homelessness, addiction, violence and loss.

Fatima Shrine Update 10-2-2017

On Friday October 13th, the Xaverian Missionaries will hold the traditional Fatima Day celebration in honor of Our Lady. It is going to be our sixth and last Fatima Day 2017. This year’s theme is connected to the ANNIVERSARY OF THE APPARITIONS OF OUR LADY AT FATIMA (1917 – 2017). The main celebrant and homilist will be Fr. Edward Riley – Spiritual Director of World Apostolate of Fatima - Boston. The evening begins with sing-along at 6:30pm; Mass at 7:00pm; Rosary and Candlelight procession at 8:00pm. The evening will conclude with refreshments served in the Shrine’s Hall.

Library Grand Opening October 16!

The Hopkinton Public Library Trustees and staff are excited to announce the library's Grand Opening at 13 Main Street! Please join us at 11 am on Monday, October 16 for the ribbon cutting ceremony.

After the ribbon cutting, Library Trustees will lead tours of the building from 11:30 am-2 pm and from 5-7 pm.

Refreshments will be available, courtesy of Snappy Dogs and the Library Trustees.

The Children's and Young Adult librarians will offer fun drop-in activities to welcome kids and teens to the library.

Church Course on Islam to Address Sharia Law

The next three classes of St. Paul’s Introduction to Islam for Christians will address the most contentious issue in America regarding Islam: Sharia Law. During the classes being held October 8, 15, and 22, Mona Ives of the Worcester Islamic Center will answer the questions: What is Sharia Law? How does it relate to US civil and criminal law? Is Islam a violent religion, requiring military conquest to spread its message? The classes will be held at St. Paul’s parish hall at 11:30 a.m., and are free and open to the public. Summer may be over, but we still have the warmth of the Vets Breakfast on 6 October 2017, at 0900 hours at the Hopkinton Senior Center. Include chipped beef with all the fixins', and you have a great start to your morning.

Enter Stage Left Theater Presentation "Of Mice and Men" Starts This Friday 9/29/17

Eighty years. That's how long ago Of Mice And Men was written. And it's still wildly popular, as both a book and a play.

But maybe you missed reading it in high school. Or maybe you forgot to go when it came out as a movie in 1939. And again in 1968. And once more in 1992 (gee, you're busy).

Well, lucky for you, it's here in Hopkinton this month for five moving performances.

St. Pauls Blessing of the Animals October 8th

Creatures of all species are invited to receive a special blessing at St. Paul’s Annual Blessing of the Animals on October 8.

Dogs, cats, and others of God’s creatures – and their human friends – are invited to a special ceremony being held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at 61 Wood Street (Rte 135) in Hopkinton. The Blessing of the Animals will take place outside the church at 10:00 a.m., followed by a “Pet Friendly” service of the Holy Eucharist. All are welcome to attend, although we ask that dogs be leashed and other animals be properly contained.
