Fundraising for the Library received a boost from the Friends of the Hopkinton Public Library just prior to the Library funding vote at the May 5 Town Meeting and the May 19 Town Election. With the Friends’ gift of $5,000, the amount raised by 1000 Homes for Hopkinton Library is now $280,000. In recognition of their gift, the Staff Room in the new Library will be named for the Friends.

HOPKINTON SCHOOL COMMITTEE ANNOUNCES APRIL 29, 2014 EVENING OFFICE HOURS

School Committee will hold Office Hour at Bill's Pizza on Main Street on April 29, 2014, from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Two members of the School Committee will be on hand to field questions and listen to feedback regarding topics on School Committee meeting agendas, items specified for public comment, or items within the scope of responsibility of the School Committee.

Hopkinton Middle School took precautions this morning to a burning odor in the building. That building has since been cleared and determined safe. The below statement was released by Assistant Principal Ann Benbenek;

Dear Parents & Guardians,

As we approach the start of our roadway resurfacing season I would like to thank the residents of Hopkinton for their continued support of our Pavement Management Program. We had a very successful 2013 season and hope to continue that in 2014 as funding allows. Each street that is on this year’s list has been inspected and evaluated to determine which treatment method is best based on its current condition. This will help ensure that we are maximizing the use of our Chapter 90 money in the most effective way.

On Tuesday, April 15, mention the Hopkinton Library at Bill’s Pizza when you check out between 5:00-9:00 PM and Bill's Pizza will donate 10% of your dine-in or take-out bill to the renovation and expansion of the Hopkinton Public Library!

Jason Newton will present the path his ancestors took from Cambridge to Hartford in the 1630’s via a slide show and video at the Hopkinton Historical Society. The Old Connecticut Path and the Bay Path travel some of the same trails through Ashland and Hopkinton. Learn about the route they followed. BOSTON – The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) today announced that several former champions of the Boston Marathon® will return to participate in events surrounding the 118th Boston Marathon, to be held on Monday, April 21, 2014. Champions Joan Benoit Samuelson (ME; 1979, 1983), Amby Burfoot (CT; 1968), and Gelindo Bordin (ITA; 1990) will join 36,000 entrants in this year’s running of the world’s oldest annual marathon.
