Elementary School Building Committee Tours Irvine Property

Following their timeline of community engagement activities, members of the Elementary School Building Committee toured the privately owned 28-acre site known as the Irvine property on Wednesday, October 23.

The Senior Center will be open from 9:00 am to noon on four Saturdays in November especially for working seniors and baby boomers. The pool table,
games, cards, computer lab and library will be available. The Thrift Shop will be open with a book sale and jewelry. Coffee and muffins will be
served. See the full schedule below:

Saturday, Nov. 2
Quilting – Make a holiday table runner or embroidered towel 9:00 -noon
Plant Clinic – Refresh your houseplants (repotting, pruning etc.)
Chi Gong – try a relaxing exercise class 10:30-11:30

The Ashland-Hopkinton Fire Collaboration Study Group, assisted by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission(MAPC) and Municipal Resources Inc., will present an update on the Ashland-Hopkinton Fire Collaboration Study project to a joint meeting of the Ashland and Hopkinton Boards of Selectmen at the Faith Community Church, 146 E Main St, Hopkinton, at 7:30p.m., October 30, 2013.

Today Representative Carolyn Dykema (D-Holliston) sent a letter to the Massachusetts Gaming Commission highlighting reasons that Foxwoods is not a suitable business partner for the Commonwealth as it seeks to bring casino gambling to Massachusetts.

Hoptoberfest Raises Over $18,000 for the Renovation and Expansion of Library

Hopkinton Public Library Foundation’s “Hoptoberfest,” a fun night of tasting, generated over $18,000 for the planned expansion and renovation of Hopkinton Library. Held on Friday, October 25, 275 guests enjoyed samples of numerous local microbrews, name brand beers and food from local restaurants and caterers including Tavolino, Marathon Restaurant, Commonwealth BBQ, Red Rock Grill & Bar, 5 Star Sweets, Mexico City Taqueria, Zaftig’s, the Bagel Bistro, Fish Restaurant & Wine Bar, Oliva’s, Not Your Average Joe’s, Ray & Dick’s Bakery, Pan Thai and Owen O’Leary’s.

Hopkinton Historical Society Harvest Supper Nov. 8

The Hopkinton Historical Society invites you to join them for the 27th annual Harvest Supper and silent auction to be held on Friday, November 8, 2013. Dinner includes ham, roast turkey, beans, potatoes, salads, homemade pies and homemade desserts. Along with dinner you may bid on silent auction items and services donated by local businesses.
