Hiller Rackets End Regular Season On High Note

Hopkinton High School Lady Hillers Swept the Medway mustangs 5 Love. The Hillers end their regular season at 13-1 in Tri-Valley League (League champions for third year straight), and 15-3 overall. Team tournament seedings and bracket will be announced next week on Tuesday. "Earliest we might begin tournament is next Thursday" said Coach Nancy Clark. " We need a week to practice and heal!"

Military Family Assistance

The Massachusetts Department of Education requires school districts to report students eligible for assistance as a member of a military family as defined by the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children.

What Children Are Eligible for Assistance Under the Compact?
Children of:
Active duty members of the uniformed services, National Guard and Reserve on active duty orders
Members or veterans who are medically discharged or retired for (1) year
Members who die on active duty

Expect Communication to Change During Adolescence

As the parent of a young child, you may have wished for quiet. As the parent of a teen, you will probably get what you wished for.
It’s typical for children to start zipping their lips when they become teens.

Some reasons:
~They worry that parents may be shocked by what they have to say. It’s easier to be quiet than to risk upsetting you.
~They are naturally separating from you. Keeping some private thoughts is an important part of the journey toward becoming an adult.

Co-Teaching Public Forum

On Tuesday, June 3, 2014at the High School Library at 7:00 to 9:00 PM, the Director of Student Services, Marijane Hackett and Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Cathy MacLeod will present an overview to explain the philosophy behind co-teaching. As you may be aware, one of the instructional interventions that will be offered for students next year involves placement in a co-taught classroom. The forum is intended to provide an opportunity to answer any questions you may have.

DI Is Off To Knoxville

Hopkinton Destination Imagination is making its way to Knoxville, TN, today. Two teams, 14 of Middle Schoolers representing Hopkinton and Massachusetts at the DI Global Finals in Knoxville, TN. Team parent Karen Webb wants to "take a moment to thank everyone who helped support these students and helped to get us there – our community, our family, our friends, and our schools."

Grand March Replays This Weekend

Did you miss the Class of 2015 Junior Prom Grand March on Friday? Well tune into HCAM-ED Comcast channel 96 and Verizon channel 31 on Saturday between 730pm and 1130pm and on Sunday from 1025am to 730pm.
