Editorial: Endorsing Mary Jo LaFreniere for Select Board

By contributor,

I’ve come to know Mary Jo LaFreniere over the past few years mostly through her work with town. As a accredited assessor and former member of the board of assessors, she has the insight necessary to take on the budgetary challenges the town faces each year. Her knowledge of how the municipal finance is indispensable. Her dedication to the town is obvious, having served as Commissioner of Trust Funds and on the Tax Relief Committee, as well as serving on the marathon committee. Mary Jo’s background and dedication to our town, I believe, makes her an ideal candidate for the Select Board.

By contributor,

Over the past several months, I’ve come to know Shahidu Mannan through various meetings. I’m truly impressed with his background in business consulting, accounting and his knowledge of Municipal Finance. His previous work with the appropriations committee demonstrates his commitment to the Town, and also provides insight into the budgetary issues the town faces each year. I believe he is an asset to our community, and would serve our community well on the Select Board.
