Video: Representative, Carolyn Dykema hosts Senior Picnic at Hopkinton YMCA

State Representative, Carolyn Dykema hosted a Senior Picnic at the YMCA in Hopkinton. eniors from the 8th Middlesex District got to enjoy food, entertainment and talk with their representative. "There was 1 campaign promise that I made to the residents of the district and that was to continue hosting this picnic that has been a tradition for a long time." Video: Ballot Machine Testing a Success

Newly Elected Town Clerk, Connor Degan had his first experience heading the ballot machine testing today. The machines were tested in preparation for the State Primary elections in September. Wardens, Russell Ellsworth and Richard McMillan assisted with the testing alongside Brenda L'italien from the company that makes the ballot machines, LHS associates. Four ballot machines were tested with the memory chip and spare memory chip. The Automark machine was also tested, the Automark machine is used for people that cannot use the marker to mark ballots or for blind people.

Public Invited to View Ballot Machine Testing

Town Clerk, Connor Degan sent out the following notification inviting the public to view the ballot machine testing before the State Primary election.

"With the State Primary in a few weeks, we will be holding the testing of the ballot machines on Wednesday, August 24th, in the lower level of Town Hall at 1:00 P.M. I invite members of the public and the press to come and observe the testing at that time. Please feel free to contact me or my office for any additional information.

Video: Blue Ribbons of Support for Law Enforcement Placed in Hopkinton

Over 400 wives of Massachusetts State police officers are participating in a campaign to cover the state with blue ribbons. The ribbons are being placed on trees and poles throughout the state to show support for law enforcement and their families. Molly Hanchett and Becky Canty were welcomed to bring the program into town and received help from the Hopkinton Police Department in placing the ribbons around town.
