At 5:31pm on Tuesday April 11th, 2017, the following notice was released from the Town of Hopkinton: "Due to an emergency (flooding), Hopkinton Town Hall is closed for the remainder of the day Tue 4/11/17. All scheduled meetings at Townhall including Board of Selectmen are canceled.

Update from Fire Chief is that flooding was caused by a broken water pipe.

Town Clerk has committed to accept voter registration until 8pm at Hopkinton Police Department.

On March 29, a group of students who will be participating in the Relay for Life from Hopkinton High School went to Boston to attend the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network’s annual state lobby day. "This year, more than 2,800 Massachusetts kids will become new daily smokers. These youth advocates are working to change that." They met with lawmakers to urge support of a comprehensive tobacco control bill, which would, among other things, increase the legal age of sale of tobacco to 21.

The Hopkinton Republican Town Committee held a Caucus on April 7, 2017 which nominated and endorsed candidates for the upcoming May 15th Town Election. This slate of candidates is especially well qualified and have years of public service to the people of Hopkinton. Five of the seven Republican candidates are current incumbents.

The Hopkinton Parent Teacher Association is excited to announce our fundraising events for the 2016-2017 school year. Our goal is to raise over $100,000 this year! We invite you to “Team Up for Education” by becoming a sponsor or donating an item or service. This year’s events include:
· Cinco de Mayo Concert – May 5

· Carnival – June 8-11

· One-Bid Auction – online via e-mail in the late Spring

Legacy Farms Road North officially opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday April 6th. The Ceremony took place inside the Weston Nurseries Green house due to rain but thanks to a brief stoppage during the rain storm, town government leaders and contributers to the Legacy Farms development were able to cut the ribbon outside infront of the new road. Sgt. Aaron O'Neil, Det. William Burchard and Sgt. Van Raalten of the Hopkinton Police Department will once again be participating in the Police Unity Tour to raise funds for the Law Enforcement National Memorial in Washington, DC. This 4 day bike ride covers over 300 miles from Northern NJ to Washington, DC in May.

They are asking for community support in raising money and awareness of fallen officers. This year they will be riding in memory of Auburn Police Officer Ronald Tarentino Jr. and Massachusetts State Trooper Thomas L. Clardy.
