John Hancock Brings Boston Marathon Champions and Other Elite Kenyan Runners to Elmwood Elementary for Rally

Roughly 500 children from the Elmwood Elementary School in Hopkinton will shout jambo (which means greetings in Swahili) when 2015 Boston Marathon women’s champion Caroline Rotich joins 2012 Boston Marathon men’s champion Wesley Korir and several other elite runners from Kenya as they arrive in the Elmwood Elementary School gym in Hopkinton on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 10 a.m., for the annual pre-race rally.

Public Notice: All Town Hall Events Tuesday 4/11/2017 Cancelled due to Flooding

At 5:31pm on Tuesday April 11th, 2017, the following notice was released from the Town of Hopkinton: "Due to an emergency (flooding), Hopkinton Town Hall is closed for the remainder of the day Tue 4/11/17. All scheduled meetings at Townhall including Board of Selectmen are canceled.

Update from Fire Chief is that flooding was caused by a broken water pipe.

Town Clerk has committed to accept voter registration until 8pm at Hopkinton Police Department.

Video: Hopkinton Relay for Life Update April 2017

On March 29, a group of students who will be participating in the Relay for Life from Hopkinton High School went to Boston to attend the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network’s annual state lobby day. "This year, more than 2,800 Massachusetts kids will become new daily smokers. These youth advocates are working to change that." They met with lawmakers to urge support of a comprehensive tobacco control bill, which would, among other things, increase the legal age of sale of tobacco to 21.

Video: Legacy Farms North Road Officially Opened

Legacy Farms Road North officially opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday April 6th. The Ceremony took place inside the Weston Nurseries Green house due to rain but thanks to a brief stoppage during the rain storm, town government leaders and contributers to the Legacy Farms development were able to cut the ribbon outside infront of the new road. Members of the Hopkinton Police Department Biking 300 Miles to Raise Money for Law Enforcement Memorial

Sgt. Aaron O'Neil, Det. William Burchard and Sgt. Van Raalten of the Hopkinton Police Department will once again be participating in the Police Unity Tour to raise funds for the Law Enforcement National Memorial in Washington, DC. This 4 day bike ride covers over 300 miles from Northern NJ to Washington, DC in May.

They are asking for community support in raising money and awareness of fallen officers. This year they will be riding in memory of Auburn Police Officer Ronald Tarentino Jr. and Massachusetts State Trooper Thomas L. Clardy.
